About

Before the best-selling books, the hit TV shows, and the voice that defined a generation — before Anthony Bourdain became Anthony Bourdain — there was the summer of 1975.
In the picturesque beachside enclave of Provincetown, on Massachusetts' idyllic Cape Cod, a lanky teenager from New Jersey discovers the first taste of the man he would become…

From director Matt Johnson (Blackberry, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie) comes the raucous and electric origin story of one of the most beloved icons of the modern era. Restless, reckless, overconfident, and hungry for something he couldn't yet name, Tony offers an unexpected glimpse at the culinary legend before the world knew his name — and before Bourdain discovered the passion, purpose, and mentorship that would shape the rest of his life.

Starring Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) as the young Bourdain, Tony crashes headfirst into the heat and havoc of a busy restaurant kitchen, where the aspiring writer washes dishes alongside a renegade crew of cooks, rebels, outsiders and degenerates during his final summer before college — setting the stage for a culinary career that culminated in the best-selling memoir Kitchen Confidential.

Co-starring Antonio Banderas as the soulful and scruffy seafood chef who takes Bourdain under his wing, Emilia Jones (Coda) as a young woman who captures his heart, and Leo Woodall (Tuner), Stavros Halkias (Bugonia), Michael Jibrin (American Fiction), and Monica Raymund (Hightown) as his co-workers, Johnson captures the sun-soaked chaos of summer, where every night feels momentous, every mistake feels romantic, and a single moment can alter the course of a life.
