Many visitors from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland choose to travel to Derry by car. It is important to note that the M50 is a tolled road which uses barrier free electronic camera technology instead of toll booths to collect the tolls. This ensures quicker, more fuel efficient journey.
The barrier free tolling point is located between Junction 6 (Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (Lucan) on the M50. Road users can not pay with cash at the toll and must pay the M50 toll up to two weeks in advance or by 8pm next day deadline online.
You can also make one off payment at one of the numerous Payzone retail outlets dotted across the Republic of Ireland.
