Nanni Moretti's beautifully crafted melodrama, Three Floors Up, charts the interconnected lives of the residents in an elegant apartment block in Rome. Capturing their emotional travails at five-year intervals, Moretti weaves together stories of love, loyalty, loss and loneliness.

Franco Piersanti's evocative score and a star-studded Italian cast that includes Moretti, Alba Rohrwacher and Riccardo Scamarcio, do justice to a timeless reflection on the ties that bind us together and the impulses that threaten to tear us apart.
