Daughters Of Ceithleann

About

Is ceoldráma ceoil tuaithe Éireannach nua é Daughters of Ceithleann arna chruthú ag Moya Sweeney, agus á cheol ag amhránaithe agus ceoltóirí áitiúla. Ríomhtar an scéal ann faoin Cheithleann, as ar ainmníodh Inis Ceithleann, agus a tionchar doshéanta ar na mná inspioráideacha a d'fhás aníos ar an oileán seo. Sa phíos téatair seo tá amhráin agus píosaí ceoil uirlise bunaithe ar mhná a chuir go suntasach le stair agus lorg chultúrtha Inis Ceithleann. Tá an ceol sa tionscadal seo fite fuaite agus bunaithe ar cheol traidisiúnta Gaelach, le gach píosa ag léiriú scéal gach mná acu.

Naonúr ban a chuirfidh an píosa seo ar an stáitse, mná a chuir go suntasach le forbairt sheinm an cheoil i bhFear Manach (Nadia Stenson, Clodagh Sweeney, Gráinne Kennedy, Niamh Carney, Philana Nolan, Cara Murphy, Crea Mullen, Abbey Wilson agus Conni Rose Dawson).
___

Daughters of Ceithleann is a new Irish folk musical created by Moya Sweeney, performed by local vocalists and musicians. It tells the story of Enniskillen's name sake, Ceithleann, and her undeniable influence on the inspirational women who grew up on this island. This piece of theatre includes songs and instrumental pieces inspired by women who have contributed significantly to the history and cultural footprint of Enniskillen. The music in this project is intrinsically linked and inspired by Irish traditional music, with each piece reflecting the story of each woman.

The piece will be performed by 9 women, who all have contributed significantly to the development of music performance in Fermanagh (Nadia Stenson, Clodagh Sweeney, Gráinne Kennedy, Niamh Carney, Philana Nolan, Cara Murphy, Crea Mullen, Abbey Wilson and Conni Rose Dawson).
