Join us at the Museum of Free Derry for an evening with Ben Collins, author of The Irish Unity Dividend.
Ben grew up in a strongly pro-unionist and pro-British background in East Belfast, previously volunteering for the UUP campaign during the 2001 Westminster election, being an active member of the UK Conservative Party in Scotland from 2001 to 2003, and later a campaigner for the Alliance Party in Northern Ireland. He is not a member of any political party.
With more than twenty-five years of experience in political communications, Ben has worked across government, housing, and public affairs in the UK and Ireland. His career includes roles such as UK Executive Director for the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA), and Press Officer for the Northern Ireland Office during the St Andrews Agreement negotiations.
Ben holds an MSc in Political Communication, an MBA, and a Law degree, and is licensed to practise as an attorney in New York State. His first book, Irish Unity: Time to Prepare, was published by Luath Press in October 2022. His second book, The Irish Unity Dividend, continues his exploration of political change and the future of the island of Ireland. He resides in his home city of Belfast, working across the island of Ireland, and has previously lived and worked in Edinburgh, Cardiff, London, and Dublin.
This event will offer a unique opportunity to hear Ben discuss The Irish Unity Dividend and share his reflections on identity, reconciliation, and the path towards unity.
