About
Gifted to the Northern Ireland Government in 2004 as part of the Peace Dividend, Ebrington Barracks took a number of years to be converted to the active site we see today.
While plans were developed, Ilex and then The Executive Office, managed the vacant buildings on the site in an exemplary way, ensuring that they were never at risk and that they could be economically converted once sustainable uses were found.
Manus Deery, Director of the Historic Environment Division, will lead a tour of the site describing its 162 year history as a military and naval base, and the approach taken to care for and develop the site from 2004.
