Danu Young Women's Choir Present: Diaspora

The Guildhall, Guildhall Square, Derry~Londonderry, County Londonderry, BT48 7BB
Danu Young Women's Choir, Live at Guildhall, Derry on May 19th.

About

Danu Young Women's Choirs (DYWC) began in the summer of 2022 with plans to be the first Irish youth choir to compete in NYC at the Barbershop Harmony Society Midwinter Convention. In the winter of 2024, they did just that and returned to Ireland as the highest-scoring youth choir in the world for 2024! DYWC welcomes over 130 girls between the ages of 4 - 18 every Sunday from all over Donegal and Derry to sing, celebrate and strengthen their bond through music. Join the award-winning Danu Young Women's Choir on May 19th LIVE at Guildhall, Derry for an afternoon/evening of history through song. Influenced by the Celtic diaspora's emigration worldwide, these three breathtaking ensembles will explore the music and language of the Celtic diaspora. Danu Young Women's Choir, featuring their 'little sister' ensembles Danín and Faíthín, will perform music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and more!

Come for classic favorites like Amazing Grace, Parting Glass, Báidín Fheilimí, and Star of The County Down. Hear some Ireland premiers like Nathaniel Adam's arrangement of Black is The Colour and Elaine Hagenberg's, O Love.

Whether you love Irish Trad, Classical, Choral, or Vocal Jazz this concert has what you need to fill your soul; history, culture, music and love.

We hope to see you there!
