Dive in to Derry~Londonderry 

No matter what the weather has in store this half-term, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained within the Walled City... 

Tower Museum  

Located within the historic city walls, head to the Tower Museum and learn all about the ‘Story of Derry’ and see costumes, props and sets from the hit TV Comedy at the ‘Derry Girls Experience’ - the Museum is also free for the month of February as they get ready to move the 'Story of Derry' collection across to the new DNA Museum set to open in 2027, so this really is the perfect time to visit! 

Tactixs Adventure Centre  

Step into the newest adventure centure located right in the heart of the Walled City within the Richmond Centre. With Axe Throwing, a Pixel Floor, Multiball Wall and Escape Room; there is something for a fun day out for the whole family; so choose your challenge and unleash your competitive side!! For those with younger kids, the Richmond Centre is also home to Bonkers Soft Play

Foyle Arena  

For a family day out, look no further than the Foyle Arena - especially on a day where the weather isn't at its best. For the adrenaline junkies, try your hand at the climbing wall or go for something a little slower paced with a swim in their pool. Then, when the weather brightens up - take a family stroll through St Columb's Park, have some fun in the play park and make your way back into the city via the Peace Bridge.

Download the Go Quest Adventue app and explore the streets of the Walled City. Unlock a hidden trail by finding clues, solving puzzles and completing challenges, earning points along the way. 

Creggan Country Park  

With a 100-acre site, Creggan Country Park offer a range of activities both on land and water. From paddle-boarding to pier jumping, and orienteering to an assault course; there is something for everyone! 

Far & Wild: Forest School  

Far and Wild offer many activities, including their Forest School. With a mixture of ‘thriviv’-al techniques and adventure games there is multitude of practical, fun activities for adults and kids alike.

Sperrins Sculpture Trail

Hop in the car and head off on a Giant Adventure into the Sperrins. This stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers a complete taste of rural Ireland, and hidden amongst this dramatic environment lies three gentle giants just waiting to be discovered...

Oakfire Adventure  

Situated a short drive from the city, Oakfire Adventures offers the perfect day out for adrenaline junkies of all ages. With a range of adventures from a zip trek experience to paintballing and a tree trek experience to a full aerial challenge you are sure to have a memorable day out!  

Wild Ireland  

Located on the Inishowen Peninsula, a short 20min drive from the Walled City lies a unique wild animal sanctuary. Wild Ireland offers a home to many animals which have been persecuted and hunted into extinction on this Island such as Brown Bears, Wolves, Lynx and Wild Boar. Step back in time into an ancient woodland where the team have recreated the natural habitats of these animals so they can now live much as they would in the wild.  

Crindle Stables  

A family-run equestrian centre, Crindle Stables offer a wide range of activites suitable for beginners and the more advanced rider. With horse-riding lessons and a ‘day at the stables’ experience on offer, this is one for the animal lovers!  

Splash Outdoor Waterpark

Why not try your hand at paddleboarding or kayaking at Splash? Situated just a 50min drive from Derry, Splash Waterpark is open year round, offering a range of activities for all the family. Or, if you would rather stay dry - give archery a go at their sister site, Jungle NI.

Ulster American Folk Park

Take a journey back in time and explore the story of the people of Ulster who emigrated to North America in the 18th and 19th centuries. Learn about lives left behind, the hardships endured on the journey and the pioneering spirit of building new lives in a new land. 

Inishowen Maritime Museum

Head into Donegal and travel north towards Greencastle where you can embark on a journey through Inishowen's maritime heritage. Uncover the stories of seafarers, historic shipwrecks, and the enduring connection between the community and the vast ocean. And, if the weather is behaving enjoy some fresh air on the stunning coastal walk between Greencastle and Moville.
