The Poems of Seamus Heaney

About

With Rosie Lavan, Bernard O'Donoghue and Matthew Hollis

Join us to celebrate the launch of The Poems of Seamus Heaney, the long-awaited, definitive edition of Seamus Heaney's poetry.

Providing the full arc of the Nobel Laureate's long and distinguished career, it encompasses all the poems Heaney published in his lifetime: from Death of a Naturalist (1966) to Human Chain (2010), his twelfth and final book. The small number of poems that appeared after his death, and those published in pamphlets, journals and magazines or with limited circulation are also included. In addition, the book includes a selection of unpublished material chosen by the poet's family.

With critical introductions to each collection and notes that illuminate the history of the poems, this is the essential volume for admirers of Heaney's work.

For this special event we are thrilled to welcome Rosie Lavan, Bernard O'Donoghue and Matthew Hollis who edited this tome. Derry Girls Actor Kathy Kiera Clarke will read extracts from The Poems while Louise Mulcahy will perform on the uilleann pipes Liam O'Flynn bequeathed to her.
