About

Sailing North offers skippered voyages from Lough Foyle in the North West of Ireland. Our voyages can take you north to the wild beauty of the Scottish islands, and west around Main Head, Ireland’s most northerly point.

Want to start sailing or extend your skills? We also offer sail training from our base at the Foyle Port Marina in Derry, including RYA Theory and Practice, and specialist courses in areas like navigation, rope skill and marine radio.

We offer corporate packages and sessions for businesses and organisations. Sailing together is a perfect way to teach a deep understanding of the importance of working as a team. It is also ideal for building team spirit and camaraderie. We cater for experienced sailors and beginners alike, and offer family-friendly trips and breaks.

You can enjoy the challenge of our sea adventures, knowing that you’re in safe hands. Your skipper Daniel Gallagher has over 30 years’ experience. He has sailed over 30,000 miles, including two transatlantic crossing, the Caribbean, Europe and the Scottish Hebrides. Dan is a qualified RYA Cruising Instructor, Yacht Master Ocean and RYA Advances Powerboat Instructor.

Our boat ‘Coriolis’ is a Sweden Yacht 42 ‘probably the best sailing 42 footer ever built’. Set out on your first cruise in a Sweden Yachts 42 and you’ll know what we mean – immediately. It is a fast sail yacht and it performs beyond expectations.

Although the yacht is primarily built for active sailing, it offers a great taste of good living afloat. Below deck, is a magnificently crafted interior in fine wood. There’s a handsome saloon for entertaining, three double cabins and two head compartments with a shower. There is plenty of locker and stowage space and an enviable galley (kitchen) for cooking. Everything has been designed for comfort and convenience, and a high standard of on-board living.
