With just a few weeks to go until one of the biggest music celebrations in the country, the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival Guinness Jazz Trail is now live.

The take-off of Ryanair’s new year-round Birmingham service from City of Derry Airport on Wednesday 3rd April 2024 provided a well-earned cause for celebration with Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s Head of Communications, and the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council, Cllr Patricia Logue, in attendance to mark the occasion.

The private Brook Hall Estate & Gardens, which sits on the banks of the River Foyle is to open to the public in support of the National Garden Scheme and Foyle Hospice.

The longer days are fast approaching, and that can only mean one thing, it’s almost time for the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival, which this year runs from May 2^nd-6^th.

Ulster’s foremost orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra are returning to the Walled City Music Festival for a Gala Variety Concert the whole family is sure to enjoy. 

The Walled City Music Festival returns to Derry from 14 – 17 March for another packed programme of classical concerts and workshops with internationally renowned guest musicians.

The YES Festival is a new multi-arts event, which will take place from 13-16 June and see women artists from across Europe travel to Ireland, to present work in venues and public spaces across Derry~Londonderry and north Donegal. Aimed at people of all ages and backgrounds, the programme will include theatre, dance, visual arts, installations, film, writing, photography, textiles, circus, music, rap and song.

February is the official month of fabulous food in Derry and Strabane, with a mouthwatering menu of events planned for this year’s Love LegenDerry programme.

After a hugely successful year at City of Derry Airport in 2023, the Airport is starting 2024 on a high following Ryanair’s announcement that the airline will be operating a new year round service from the Gateway of the Northwest to Birmingham twice weekly from April 2024.

The Gasyard Development Trust, a community organisation focussed on developing arts, culture and heritage within the Bogside and Brandywell area has revealed the name of its new museum. 

Thousands of people will line the streets of Derry city centre this Friday November 24th as a procession led by Santa Claus and Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Patricia Logue, turns on the Christmas lights for 2023.

Derry City and Strabane District Council will kick off their 2023 Christmas celebrations this weekend when the eagerly anticipated Guildhall Craft Fair returns to the city.
