The take-off of Ryanair’s new year-round Birmingham service from City of Derry Airport on Wednesday 3rd April 2024 provided a well-earned cause for celebration with Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s Head of Communications, and the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council, Cllr Patricia Logue, in attendance to mark the occasion.

The private Brook Hall Estate & Gardens, which sits on the banks of the River Foyle is to open to the public in support of the National Garden Scheme and Foyle Hospice.

The Walled City Music Festival returns to Derry from 14 – 17 March for another packed programme of classical concerts and workshops with internationally renowned guest musicians.

The YES Festival is a new multi-arts event, which will take place from 13-16 June and see women artists from across Europe travel to Ireland, to present work in venues and public spaces across Derry~Londonderry and north Donegal. Aimed at people of all ages and backgrounds, the programme will include theatre, dance, visual arts, installations, film, writing, photography, textiles, circus, music, rap and song.

February is the official month of fabulous food in Derry and Strabane, with a mouthwatering menu of events planned for this year’s Love LegenDerry programme.

After a hugely successful year at City of Derry Airport in 2023, the Airport is starting 2024 on a high following Ryanair’s announcement that the airline will be operating a new year round service from the Gateway of the Northwest to Birmingham twice weekly from April 2024.
