Following more than 30 years in forensic medicine and 15 years as Ireland's State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy has always been a storyteller, piecing together stories of the thousands of postmortems she has performed and hundreds of murders she has investigated.
During her career, she witnessed the burgeoning role of forensic science in solving crimes and achieving justice. She retired in 2018 to spend more time on the other passions in her life - her family and writing.
Her memoir, Beyond the Tape, hit the number one spot when released in 2020. Debut crime novel, Body of Truth, was one of the top ten highest-selling novels in Ireland in 2023, while Deadly Evidence, published in October 2025, became an instant number one bestseller in Ireland.
