'Beneath an open sky' with the Tower Museum's 'Art on Your Doorstep'

Castle Park, Castlederg, Tyrone, BT81 7AR
Art on Your Doorstep

About

Join us for a family-friendly plein air art workshop meet at the beautiful Castle Park in Castlederg, where participants of all ages will explore the expressive power of blues and yellows in the landscape. Inspired by Pierre-Auguste Renoir's The Umbrellas (c. 1881–86), with its harmonious cool blue tones and lively atmosphere, and Vincent van Gogh's A Wheatfield, with Cypresses (1889), celebrated for its vibrant golden fields and dynamic skies, families will discover how colour can convey mood, movement, and light.
Through observation, playful experimentation, and guided painting activities, participants will create their own outdoor artworks while enjoying the natural surroundings, encouraging creativity, connection with nature, and shared artistic experiences.
Bring an umbrella and be prepared to pose for a short time as we draw, paint and photograph each other.

Free family event but booking recommended at tower@derrystrabane.com or 028 7137 2411
