In this three-day workshop, children will design a seaside-themed tote bag, paint their composition onto fabric, and then embellish the final piece using needle and thread.
The activity draws on childhood summer memories of seaside trips, inspired by Stepping Stones and In Memoriam Francis Ledwidge, as well as Field Work, where Seamus Heaney recalls childhood visits to the seaside with his Aunt Mary:
"Along the Portstewart prom, then around the crescent To thread the Castle Walk out to the strand…"
