As the festive season begins, Translink is pleased to announce an enhanced schedule of late-night bus and train services for Derry~Londonderry, offering residents and visitors convenient and sustainable travel options to enjoy seasonal events, shopping, and local hospitality.

Additional services will operate from Friday 28th November until Saturday 20th December, including:

  • 23:10 rail service from Belfast to Derry~Londonderry on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • 23:30 rail service from the North-West Transport Hub to Coleraine on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Ulsterbus 98 service departing Foyle Street, Derry~Londonderry to Strabane at 23:00.

For those travelling further afield, late 212 Goldliner services currently run from Foyle Street for Belfast departing at 23:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. The 212 service also offers late-night departures from Belfast Grand Central Station to Derry~Londonderry with departures at 00:15 and 01:15, Friday and Saturday

In addition, a range of later Foyle Metro services also operate throughout the week, providing cleaner, greener, and more convenient travel options to enjoy the city’s festive atmosphere.

  • 3N - City Centre - Drumahoe departing 23:00 Fridays & Saturdays 
  • 7N - City Centre - Ballymagroarty departing 22:37 Monday to Saturday 
  • 12N - City Centre - Culmore departing 23:00 Fridays & Saturdays
  • 145N - Eglinton via Strathfoyle departing 22:30 Fridays & 22:00 Saturdays
  • 6A - City Centre - Newbuildings departing 22:20 Monday - Friday & 21:20 Saturdays

Commenting on the late services for Derry~Londonderry, Translink’s Northern Area Manager, Sarah Simpson, said:

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh, said the provision of late-night bus and train services is fantastic news for the city and the wider North-West region:

These extended services will allow everyone to fully enjoy our Christmas events, do some late-night shopping, and celebrate safely, knowing they have a convenient and sustainable way to get home.
