Browns Bonds Hill has been named Best Restaurant in the county again at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2022. A labour of love for the team headed up by co-owners Ian Orr and Marcus Roulston, the award comes after a turbulent few years in the hospitality industry. Browns Bonds Hill is widely considered as being the catalyst to putting Co Derry/Londonderry on the foodie map. The restaurant was recommended in the Michelin guide in the first year of opening and has been listed every year since. In 2009 John McKenna from the renowned Bridgestone Guide said, “The region west of the river Bann has seen nothing like Browns before.” Browns continued to push the county’s food scene forward in 2013 opening “Browns in Town” the casual little sister on the Strand Road in the city. Closely followed by Ardtara Country House, Maghera in 2014 which also scooped the” Best Hotel Restaurant” at Tuesday night’s award ceremony. No stranger to major accolades, Browns Bonds Hill has gone on twice to win Best Restaurant in Ulster at these awards and has also brought the prestigious “Best Food Tourism Experience in Northern Ireland” (Tourism NI) back to the county.

Marcus Roulston, Managing Director of Browns Bonds Hill Collection said “It’s remarkable to be named Best Restaurant in the county for the 10th time in thirteen years. The team led by Ian Jarvis is our most talented yet. In any business to stay ahead of the pack you need to continually evolve and aim higher. We invested heavily in our signature restaurant during the pandemic and reshuffled the crew, which has clearly paid off. This top award is testament to our entire team who continue to innovate and lead the fine dining scene in our city. In 2022 so far, our customers tell us our offering is the best and most consistent it has ever been.”

Chef Patron Ian Orr says “Browns Bonds Hill has been a firm fixture on the foodie map for over thirteen years, offering customers great value for money across a variety of dining options and menus, from wine dinners to tasting menus, lunch offers and much more. I work closely with Gerard O’Donnell and the kitchen team to ensure the finest dining experience for all our customers. The menu changes regularly to incorporate the freshest possible seasonal ingredients from local producers and suppliers. We would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support, especially during the pandemic and since reopening.”

Browns Bonds Hill restaurant is part of the multi award-winning Browns Bonds Hill Collection, a bespoke restaurant collection that includes Browns Bonds Hill & Browns in Town, located in Derry/Londonderry, Ardtara Country House in Upperlands and Eighteen Ninety Four, overlooking Portstewart Strand.
