Strabane is noted for its many famous associations including those with Flann O’Brien- one of Ireland’s foremost literary giants; the hymn writer Cecil Frances Alexander – of All Things Bright And Beautiful fame; and John Dunlap, printer of the American Declaration of Independence.On Strabane’s Main Street, nestling behind a unique Georgian façade, visitors will find Gray Printers and its treasure trove of history focussing on the indelible story of ink, galleys, presses and emigration in the 18th century (Open on set days only and by appointment) Nearby, we also have the ancestral home of President Woodrow Wilson (Open July & August) where visitors can relive the ambience of bygone days in front of the traditional hearth fire, and in the carefully conserved rooms complete with authentic artefacts.

Alongside this unique heritage, Strabane can also boast one of the most impressive pieces of sculpture in the North-West – the “Let The Dance Begin” sculpture, and a magnificent arts and conference theatre where everything from traditional music, to ballet and comedy can be enjoyed.
