    The Walled City - where the Wild Atlantic Way Meets the Causeway Coastal Route. Derry is the perfect base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal Route. Take a day trip to see the rugged Donegal hills and its glorious beaches, or why not take an excursion along the Causeway Coastal Route and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site - the Giant’s Causeway. If hill walking is your thing, then take a trip to the Sperrins, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

    Imagine being able to immerse yourself in the world of your favourite TV shows, like Derry Girls - now you can! Discover some of the show’s favourite filming locations. From interactive walking tours, quirky afternoon teas and of course a visit to the ginormous Derry Girls mural, will all be on the agenda.   1. Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Word Hoard
    While much of Seamus Heaney’s writing is inspired by words and ways of life specific to this area, his human relationships and household objects, which we bring to the fore in our exhibition, are familiar to many.
    1. The basalt stones at the giants causeway stretch into the sea
      Follow in the footsteps of giants at Northern Ireland's iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. The basalt columns of the Causeway landscape were left by volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago. All visitors are encouraged to book Visitor Experience tickets online in advance of arrival onsite.
