With Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry your coastal adventure can be even more exciting! The service offers a twenty-minute ferry service across the iconic Lough Foyle connecting the ‘Causeway Coastal Route’ to the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’, from its terminals located at Greencastle, Co. Donegal and Magilligan Point in Northern Ireland.

Whether walking, cycling, driving, or on a tour, visitors can experience Wild Atlantic Way destinations like Malin Head, Ireland’s most northerly point and filming location for Star Wars, or Greencastle itself with its own Northburgh Castle and Planetarium. On the Causeway Coast you’ll find popular destinations such as Ballintoy Harbour, filming location for Game of Thrones, and Dunluce Castle based in Portrush. Whichever direction you are travelling, you can enhance your journey by taking in the stunning panoramic views of the iconic Lough Foyle as we take you to your next adventure.

Highlights include:
A scenic and convenient crossing linking Greencastle in Co. Donegal with Magilligan Point in Northern Ireland
A spacious upper deck area, offering panoramic views of this beautiful Lough as you cross.
Enjoy breath taking sights such as the Martello Tower and Benevenagh Mountain on the Northern side and Northburgh Castle and the Harbour on the Southern side as you cross.
Our Terminal at Magilligan point is just a short car journey from the Giant’s Causeway, Whiterocks Beach, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge and Kinbane Castle.
Visit the site of the filming of Star Wars in Malin Head, Kinnego Bay and Culdaff village on the Inishowen Peninsula, located just a short distance from our Greencastle, Co. Donegal Terminal.
Sailings operate during summer months, between 9am and 8.15pm
The ferry can carry all type of vehicles (maximum bus size – 7 meters)

Touring the Area:
If you’re on the West Coast travelling the Wild Atlantic Way and heading North you will venture towards Letterkenny, follow signs for Moville and enjoy the coastal drive along Lough Foyle and continue on to Greencastle where you’ll find the Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry waiting to cross to Magilligan Point.
Perhaps you’ve travelled along the Causeway Coast from Ballycastle or Rathlin Island? Take your time past the Giant’s Causeway into Portrush and drive towards Castlerock. After you’ve visited Downhill and Mussenden Temple drive towards Magilligan Point where the Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry will transport you into Inishowen.
