'Lured'  - 'Derry Girls' goes Stateside

It has emerged that 'Derry Girls' will be screened in America next month on Netflix.

The popular TV show follows the lives of four schoolgirls in Derry during the 1990s. The show was a huge success in Ireland and reached an audience of 2.5 million in Britain, but it is now hoped it will have an even bigger viewership when it is showcased to an international audience in the USA from December 21.

Written by Derry’s Lisa McGee, the show was Channel 4’s biggest comedy since 2004. She told the Belfast Telegraph last week that 'season two will move through the early stages of the peace process…the gang and what they get up to it’s just bigger and crazier’.

Last week the cast and crew of Derry Girls were in the Walled City to film scenes for season two. They spent two days filming clips outside the Guildhall, Shipquay Street and other well known locations in the city.

It has not yet been revealed when 'Derry Girls' season two will air, but we can't wait for it to showcase the Walled City.
