MILLENIUM FORUM

The Millennium Forum, situated between the Richmond Centre and Foyleside in the heart of the city centre, is Ireland’s largest purpose-built theatre, seating up to 1100 people. Opened in 2001, the complex comprises not only a state-of-the-art auditorium, but also conference facilities, retail outlets, bars, and a coffee shop. THE PLAYHOUSE

THE GUILDHALL see also What to See

The Guildhall is one of the top city-centre entertainment spots with a 700-seater main hall housing the magnificent Guildhall organ. It is acknowledged to be acoustically superb and hosts many fine events during the year, including orchestral concerts, organ recitals, dancing championships, cabaret evenings and the annual feiseanna. Its Minor Hall seats 100. Please note that many annual events normally held in the Guildhall will take place in alternative venues for the duration of the Saville Inquiry. T: 7126 8439.

VERBAL ARTS CENTRE

Situated in the old First Derry Primary School at the southwest corner of Derry’s Walls, the Verbal Arts Centre is dedicated to promoting the arts. The Centre hosts regular book launches, children’s events, literary readings, traditional storytelling and drama productions and classes. It has a small cafe open to the public.
