Rhythm of the Bann is an exciting new event for Coleraine in the historic Market Yard.

An evening featuring a wide variety of Celtic influenced, contemporary and traditional musical performances, with artists from Isle of Skye and Spain joining local musicians and dancers in an outdoor concert, hosted by Tim McGarry (BBCTV) and Dr David Hume.

The Peatbog Faeries are now regarded as one of the world's most successful Celtic-fusion bands and will fly in from the Isle of Skye for this concert. The band are well-known on the festival circuit as they have performed at all the major Celtic festivals in Europe. Having celebrating 25 years as a band in 2016, they bring Celtic Dance music into the 21st century, from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more. This inventive and unique approach brings a true flavour of traditional Scottish music whilst offering high octane Celtic dance music.

The Celtic music of Ireland, Scotland and Brittany has been fused with the traditional music of Galicia by the seven-piece band Milladoiro.

Also performing is Coleraine born, singer/songwriter Hannah McPhillimy. Hannah is well known for her beguiling voice and ear for melody, paired with unguarded, reflective narratives.

Staying local we have Sullivan and Gold.Their sound is an evocative mix of Laurel Canyon soul and British alt-indie with closely woven harmonies and soulful use of melody.  Have a listen to what you can expect to hear on the night at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdytDq3tK-E

A one hour dance show will start the night off performed by the Dominic Graham School of Irish Dance and the Michelle Johnston School of Highland Dance, featuring a cast of 40 dancers and a band of 4 musicians.

There will be no seating for this event.
